About the Internship
SocialSurge Marketing is a digital marketing agency that primarily works with local, small businesses to help tell their stories online through social media, content creation, web design, paid advertising and more!
We’re a small agency, but have a proven track record with significant growth over the last 4 years and over 95% customer retention. As a matter of fact, we were just awarded as a top marketing agency in Milwaukee by Expertise. Pretty neat, eh? We are always looking to add to our team to help us continue our growth and serve more of the Milwaukee area small businesses that we love!
As a Website/SEO Intern, you will assist with a wide variety of website services including website design, SEO, copywriting and more. You won’t learn this kind of stuff in a classroom! You’ll become fully involved in building and improving websites for our clients and learning the ins and outs of the marketing agency world.
This is a part-time position that can be flexible based on your school schedule. A mostly digital position, we would still like to see your face in the office from time to time, but again, we are flexible based on your needs as a student. We can’t wait to talk to you soon!

Primary Responsibilities
Website Design
- Build new websites using WordPress/Elementor
- Helping manage existing websites
- Little to no custom coding knowledge needed
Copywriting
- Blogs
- Website copy
- Etc.
Search Engine Optimization
- Help improve client’s SEO
- On page & technical SEO
- Link building
Analytics & Reporting
- Google Tag Manager
- Google Analytics
- Google Data Studio

Team Player
We’re looking for someone who is a team player and enjoying working collaboratively. Most of our work is done as a team, and we want to make sure you’ll enjoy working with us!
Love for Milwaukee
Most of our clients are in Milwaukee and southeast Wisconsin. We have a love for Milwaukee that our clients see, and we’re looking for someone who shares that love!
Want to Learn
Most of the work you’re doing is going to be brand new to you, and that’s totally okay! We want to make sure that you’re okay learning new skills and becoming more well rounded in Digital Marketing!

Experience
We're not looking for any type of experience at all. We're looking for someone that wants to learn!
Job Location
Milwaukee, WI - Must be able to work in-person at our small office, but flexible to virtual work as well. Travel is local only (SE Wisconsin).
Paid Opportunity
No unpaid work here! We're offering $15 per hour for our internship opportunities to make sure you're valued for your time!
Flexible Hours
We're looking for someone who has at least 10 hours a week to work with us, and you can certainly work more if you have the time!
