While most people are familiar with some of Google’s tools, such as Google Ads and Analytics, they are actually scratching the surface of everything Google has to offer.
Google has a lot of amazing tools that they offer for free to help you market your business better online! Let’s talk about them all and show you how you can implement them into your business to get insights and results you might have never thought possible.
Google Tag Manager
Google Tag Manager (GTM) is a tag management system that helps store and apply all of the tags that you’d otherwise have to manually insert into your website’s code. The most common tags added to GTM are Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Facebook Pixel.
It also makes it easy to tell these analytics codes where they should be applied. For example, if you want analytics only on one page of your website, you can easily do that using GTM!
Without anything added into GTM, it would basically be an empty shell. So let’s dive into some of the things you can add to it such as Google Analytics.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is one of a marketer’s best friends. It’s an incredibly powerful tool that allows you to see data and (believe it or not) analytics on your website’s visitors so you can learn more about them.
You’re able to see details about how visitors got to your website, what they did when they were on your website, and learn more about your website visitors as a whole!
This is how you’re able to make informed decisions about the marketing strategies you run.
Google Search Console
Google Search Console is very similar to Google Analytics, but it is more specific to your site’s search traffic and performance.
It also helps you identify issues that your website currently has and how to fix those issues.
Make sure to tie your Search Console to your Analytics platform to get the most out of it! We put together a blog on how to do this, set up Google Tag Manager, and tie all of these together!

Google Ads
Google Ads is a pay-per-click (PPC) advertising program by Google. You ‘bid’ for your rank in Google searches by the specific keywords that you choose.
You can choose multiple keywords and make them very specific to ensure the traffic you will get will benefit you and not waste your money since you only pay for each click that your ad generates.
Each ad consists of a title line, two descriptive lines, and a click-through link to a specific page to your website.
This is the one tool on here that is not free. You can set up an account for free, but you do need to pay for the clicks!
Google My Business
Google My Business (GMB) is a free tool that gives you a listing of your business that appears on Google and Google Maps. Your listing can include things like:
- Business Name
- Location
- Business Hours
- Customer Reviews
- Photos
- Analytics for your use
Getting on Google My Business can be one of the easiest and fastest ways online to bring clients to your location and even bring more traffic to your website.
When you talk about SEO, most of the time you have to hire someone to optimize your website and online brand in order to get your business found online. Then it can still take months to see results! With Google My Business, you can see results almost immediately and you need very little technical experience.
Google Workspace (Formerly Google Suite)
Google Workspace is a collection of cloud tools, software, and other general products developed by Google. While Google Workspace isn’t specifically made for marketers, it is an absolutely awesome tool that we recommend checking out if you are trying to become more organized with your business.
Things included in Workspace are Gmail, Drive, Docs, Calendar, Meet, Sheets, and much more!
Google Chrome
If Google Chrome isn’t your main web browser, you’re missing out! It’s an incredibly fast browser with many extensions and apps to make your job as a marketer, that much easier!
One example is called MozBar, a free Chrome Extension that makes it easy to get SEO stats such as link metrics, domain authority, etc.
Something awesome about using all of Google’s various tools is that you can access all of them with your Google account. You don’t have to worry about multiple usernames and passwords, but instead, you just have to be logged in on Google Chrome!
As you can see, there are a lot of things that Google offers to business owners and marketers. While all of these are important tools, take your time learning and understanding them.
They can get a little complex, and it can be easy to get frustrated. Check out all our resources and you’ll be an expert in all things Google in no time!
