What's the deal?
SocialSurge Marketing is a digital marketing agency that primarily works with local, small businesses to help tell their stories online through social media, content creation, web design, search engine optimization, and more!
We’re a small agency, but have a proven track record with significant growth over the last 5 years and over 90% customer retention. We are looking to add another full-time member to our team to help us continue our growth and serve more of the Milwaukee area small businesses that we love!
We’re looking for someone to work with us at SocialSurge Marketing who is a team player, is goal-oriented, is willing to learn, and has a good work ethic! We want someone who will be a part of our team and wants to grow with us as we continue to build our agency.
Our culture is extremely important to us. We define culture not as the free snacks in the office or the fun activities we do as a team (even though we do have both!) But as the way people feel about coming to work each and every day. We strive to make each person on the team energized and excited to work hard for our clients.
This position would play a critical role with our website and SEO clients and balances both creative aspects with other technical website skills (page development, website maintenance, etc.). We’re looking to find some one with enough experience with WordPress to be able to help us manage our website client right away.

What're we looking for?
Primary Responsibilities
Basic Website Design
While we’re not looking for you to be able to code or create websites from the ground up, you’d definitely be spending most of your time in WordPress!
- WordPress experience 2+ years
- Elementor experience (or similar WordPress builder) 2+ years
- Webflow experience (nice to have, but not necessary)
- HTML/CSS experience (nice to have, but not necessary)
Analytics Optimization
General understanding of the following is a plus:
- Google Tag Manager
- Google Analytics
- GA4
Design
- Simple graphic design
- Use of Canva, Photoshop, and other platforms to create images for website content
Search Engine Optimization
- General understanding of SEO is a plus
Other Qualities
Team Player
We’re looking for someone who is a team player and enjoying working collaboratively. Most of our work is done as a team, and we want to make sure you’ll enjoy working with us!
Organizational Skills
- Must be organized
- Knowledge of Google Suite is a plus
- Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.
Love for Milwaukee
Most of our clients are in Milwaukee and southeast Wisconsin. We have a love for Milwaukee that our clients see, and we’re looking for someone who shares that love!
Want to Learn
Most of the work you’re doing is going to be brand new to you, and that’s totally okay! We want to make sure that you’re okay learning new skills and becoming more well rounded in Digital Marketing!
What else can ya tell me?
Experience
College Degree in Marketing Field OR a proven track record of success in some of the requirements.
Job Location
Milwaukee, WI - Must be able to work in-person at our office 2-3 days/week with work-from-home the rest of the time.
Unlimited PTO
Must be generally available 8-5 every day, but flexible work as long as timelines are met.
